ecrt® is UTMB's effort reporting system that, in compliance with IHOP 4.5.8, UTS163, and state and federal regulations, ensures the appropriate certification of effort cards. Effort reporting and certification policies are necessary to ensure that the salaries and fringe benefits charged to sponsored programs are allocable, allowable, consistently treated, and reasonable.

At UTMB, effort certification includes four quarterly periods and a 25-day certification period per reporting period.
